| I'm 5 Months Old! |
Our happy-go-lucky baby had his 5 month check-up and the results are in. He's a chunkmeister.
- Weight - 18 lbs 13.5 oz = 90% (down from 95th percentile - I know, he's just wasting away - LOL)
- Height - 25.5" = 50%
- Head - 43.5 cm = 70%
When Kaz was 4.5 month's we stopped correcting his age because at his corrected age he too was in the 90th percentile. In fact, at 5 months they both measured 25.5". This blows my mind to think of how much Kaz grew in such a short amount of time.
Zane is a big boy by his own merits and is rockin the 9 month clothes. Of course being big means he may take a little longer to achieve the "rolling" milestone. He has rolled but of course I'm the only one who's seen it so according to his father, it hasn't happened. Zane seems to be more interested in crawling. He's not, but boy does he get frustrated and turn all different shades of red when he wants to "move" and can't. His favorite pastime continues to be eating and standing. His new fascination is his hand, his hand in his mouth, and Harley. He watches him with such wonderment and Harley is quite taken with him as well.

Kaz
| His 1st poop on the pot. |
As of Saturday Feb 18 Kazimoto is officially daytime potty trained! We tried, tried, and tried again and now our boy is wearin' undies and showin off his little plumbers crack. Very cute at 2 - beyond that, not so much. Oh and Michelle K I'm sorry to report he does not have his fathers booty (can you tell someone is obsessed?!) "What do you mean "daytime" potty trained?" Well we haven't quite shook the diapers at bedtime yet. We are taking baby steps.
First we had to conquer peeing in the pot. Then pooping. That didn't happen till Feb 24. That's a LONG time to hold out and boy what came out of that little body was just wrong. Poor thing. Now I can't get him to stop pooping. He's obsessed. Then there was the battle over using the public restroom - he's got a thing about it but we tackled that one. The last step is nighttime training and I'm scerd/lazy. Ugh, not looking forward to cries in the middle of the night coupled with late night linen changes. Any suggestions cause I'm flying by the seat of his pants on this one.
Kaz is becoming a class "A" button pusher following the great (I use this term loosely) tradition of all the P11 (family name) button pushers that came before him. While I realize a lot of this has to do with him being 2 going on 3 and the fact that he is house-locked because we've got an eating/feeding schedule to attend to for his little bro, I pray that this is a phase and the "punky" gene will skip a generation...please.
What it all boils down to is I am not enough for my little boy anymore and it's time for him to spread his wings and and go to preschool. His imagination is in full bloom these days running around the house having colorful conversations with imaginary friends and disciplining his stuffed animals. So the plan is Kaz will leave the safety of his mothers bosom for 2 mornings a week. Don't judge me, it's all I can handle for now! I know I'm such a drama-queen, wherever does my son get it from.
I think going to preschool will be great for him and I think he'll take to it like a champ. In fact the day we picked up the paperwork at the preschool he didn't want to leave and with tears rolling down his cheeks he wailed "I want to go to school!" My heart swelled with love to see him so excited and broke at the thought of my little monkey getting ready to swing out on his own branch. I know, it'll be good for both of us but get ready for the waterworks. Mine, not his. Man this mothering thing and it's emotions are something else.

In true toddler form the boy has become somewhat of a picky eater. Add a touch of OCD and it makes for some very tumultuous meals. At first we asserted our parental "you will do as I say" right but it was getting us nowhere. Instead we adopted some of the following tips (click here) and had to let go and give him some control. What, loose control? The hell you say! But I'M THE MOMMA! He'll starve! He won't grow! Why won't he just try it?! My inner dialog is totally spinning out of control. Take a deep breath...thaaaaaat's it. It's gonna be all right.
We are doing what we can to get the good stuff in him and sometimes he really surprises us. Like when he eats raw peppers and devours an adult sized portion of corned beef. The best part of watching him eat (yes we are constantly watching him to see what he'll do - it's like an experiment) is when he dances in his chair while eating. That's when you know he REALLY likes something. It's one of the best feelings EVER...until next week when he won't eat that anymore.
So who do you think the boys look like now? In lieu of a paternity test we're taking a vote up on right side of the page.
