A couple of weeks before Kaz's birthday he ran through the house, naked as a jaybird, and flew into my arms squeezing me tight. As I sat there snuggling him and kissing the top of his towheaded mop my eyes welled. For at that very moment I realized in the very near future (way too near for my taste) the moments of cuddling my little boy like this will be but a distant teary-eyed memory. He's gonna be 3 and I'm gonna blink and he's gonna be 13 and he won't even want me to look at him (with goofy love in my eyes) let alone hold him. Gosh what a horrible realization because this bliss, at this very moment, is something I NEVER want to loose.
Our boy is officially 3 years old now and an awe inspiring light bulb went off in my head. My earliest memories begin when I was 3. So it's kinda crazy to think we are in the midst of creating lifelong memories right here, right now. NO pressure! Click the Smilebox to see how we celebrated birthday #3 with some memorable moments. BTW, the Smilebox will open in a seperate window. You can click on the pictures within the Smilebox to make them bigger.Oh yeah, I've got a bone to pick with some of you. All of you who talked about the "Terrible 2's", you duped me because the terrible 2's ain't got nothing on the tumultuous 3's! Kaz's Auntie Jenn and I joke about how someone should document the North American toddler and put it on Animal Planet. [Enter a calm pretentious British voice] "The North American Toddler is prone to irrational outbursts of emotions and nonsensical demands made in a secret toddler language of whines and cries..." Seriously, someone NEEDS to make this documentary or bankroll us so we can. People must be warned!
LOL Moment: It's like the "Sixth Sense" around here. Kaz is always talking to "someone". Sometimes it's his stuffed animals and other times it's Dzia Dzia but it's always colorful and most definitely LOUD. One day I was taken aback when I heard my own words barking out of my little guys mouth, "You have a choice." "Do you understand me?" "Yes Sir!" Yes, he was disciplining his animals or he was making fun of me. Either way I had to chuckle and then think, "Oh dear is THAT what I sound like?"
3 Year Check-up
Kaz had his 3 year check-up on his birthday. Yeah, I know - boo. Hey there's nothing like the gift of health right? Anyhoo, I was NOT looking forward to this appointment because I thought for sure I would be writing about how my son had fallen off the growth chart. Well color me tres surprised and elated to report the following!

Momma's Note
I started this blog 3 years ago to help our friends and family keep updated about everything that was going on with our baby boy Kaz. We were overwhelmed with so many emotions, information, and unknowns that having to tell the tale and relive it every time someone lovingly asked, "how's he doing", "when can he come home", "how long will he have to be on oxygen" was almost to much to bare. So this blog helped us preserve our sanity, reserve our strength, and face what the next day had in store without being weighted down by what happened yesterday. Time went on and we settled into our new norm. I would go months without writing anything because it was too hard to have to tell everyone, "He's not better yet and we don't know when he will be." Well that was 3 years ago! Now we've got a happy healthy boy with a healthy baby brother. Now this blog is purely indulgent, dripping with sappy poetic prose, attempts to be funny, and stories only someones mother would love. Kaz, Zane, and Harley's Momma to be exact.
It's been 3 years and 1 kid later and I still feel like this.
This is my life. REALLY? Wow am I blessed or what.
